18+
Rummy is for adults only. Everyone confirms they are 18 or older at sign-up, and any account we find belongs to a minor is closed. A note for parents: Android's Family Link and app-lock tools can keep apps like this one off a child's phone.
Tools in the Rummy app
- Deposit limits — a ceiling on what you can put in, built right into the app. Set it before you start, while your head is still clear.
- Session reminders — a pop-up that lets you know how long you have been at it.
- Time-out — a short breather, anywhere from 24 hours to a few weeks.
- Self-exclusion — a longer lock of six months or more that cannot be lifted ahead of time.
You will find all of these under Profile → Responsible Gaming, and support can set them up for you if you would rather.
Warning signs
- Putting in more than you meant to, or dipping into money set aside for bills.
- Chasing losses — carrying on in the hope of winning back what has gone.
- Borrowing to play, or keeping your playing quiet from the people close to you.
- Feeling on edge or short-tempered when you are away from the game.
If any of that rings true, step away now and talk it over with someone you trust.
Simple habits that help
- Decide on a budget before the app is even open, and stop the moment it runs out.
- Think of what you lose as the cost of a bit of entertainment.
- Steer clear of playing when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
- Hold on to your other interests and your time with people away from the screen.
Where to get help
Help that is free and confidential is out there from groups such as Gambling Therapy (online, in many languages) and Gamblers Anonymous. Our own support team is there too, and can put limits or a self-exclusion in place for you right away.
